At Rosie D. Designs, icing sheets and wafer
paper are both available for edible printing.
Icing paper generally produces better quality
prints and is used for most edible printing
unless wafer paper is requested. It is more
pliable than wafer paper and is said to have
a better taste than wafer paper.
It is also more fragile and is temperature
sensitive, ideally it should be stored at
room temperature.
Although wafer paper does not produce the
same quality prints as icing paper, it is more
durable. Wafer paper is also great for
creating 3D images, such as butterfly or
flower cut outs since it is a stiffer material.
The icing sheets used by Rosie D. Designs
are premium quality sheets.
Sheets are gluten free and nut free.
Ingredients are listed below:
Corn Starch, Sugar, Arabic Gum,
Glycerin Polysorbate60, Vanilla Flavour
Wafer paper sheets are made from
rice starch. These sheets are also
nut free and gluten free.
Commonly circle images are requested for
cupcake toppers, cookies and other sweets.
The following lists sizing and how many
circles fit on a letter sized sheet.
1" Round Circles (48 per Sheet)
1.5" Round Circles (24 per Sheet)
2" Round Circles (12 per Sheet)
2.5" Round Circles (12 per Sheet)
3" Round Circles (6 per sheet)
Cupcake toppers on chocolate are 2" icing
sheet circles with a milk or white chocolate
backing. Icing paper is quite pliable and
oftentimes cupcake toppers require some
type of stiff backing when placed on frosted
cupcakes so that the circle holds up and
stays stiff.
Cupcake toppers on chocolate come ready to
place on cupcakes and are the easiest and
quickest way to customize your cupcakes.
Toppers on chocolate are only available in
2" round circles for standard sized cupcakes.
As long as the images are kept at room
temperature, out of heat or cold and
stored in a sealed bag or container,
they can last up to 6 months.
If you are cutting your images and will
not be using them right away, it is ideal
to cut them and store them rather then
storing them and then cutting them.
The fresher the image, the easier it is to
cut since it is more pliable.
Edible Images are to be kept at room
temperature in the packaging you receive
them in. Images should be stored at room
temperature only.
Icing paper SHOULD NOT be stored
in the refrigerator or freezer and they
shouldn't be placed on baked goods
that need to be kept in a cold or hot area.
Ideally images should be placed on
cupcakes, cakes or sweets on the day
they are to be served or when they are
okay to be left out at room temperature.
Applying images to fondant is pretty simple.
Peel the clear backing off from the back of
the image. Dilute either corn syrup or honey
with water. Brush this mixture (with a food
brush) onto the back of your image, leaving
a very thin coat and stick your image to the
fondant. The diluted corn syrup and/or
honey acts as a glue to stick the images
to your cake.
Images can also be applied directly to
frosted cakes without fondant. Frosting
must be completely smooth and still have
a little stickiness to it in order for the image
to adhere to the frosting. If frosting has
‘crusted’ and is firm, a very small amount
of water can be patted onto the frosting to
dampen it so that it becomes sticky again
and the image can be placed on top.
All images printed by Rosie D. Designs are
custom to every order. Circles can be made
to any size needed for your project and once
circles are printed, they can be cut for an
extra fee.
At Rosie D. Designs, when cutting circles,
a circle punch is used, so if you are worried
about how precise your cutting skills are,
especially with circles which can be more
difficult to cut, circle punch cutting allows
for more precise cutting.
If you choose to cut your own images,
images can easily be cut with scissors or
a cutting knife, similar to how you would
cut paper.
To ensure your order is ready for your
required pick up date, one weeks
notice is ideal for medium sized orders.
Larger orders require at least
2 weeks notice.
At times rush orders can be accommodated,
but are subject to an extra rush fee if less
than 24 hrs notice is given. Timing and fees
for rush orders will be confirmed before
your order is placed.
Orders can also be placed and picked up
well in advance since images keep well
for months.
When you are ready to go ahead and place
your order and the total price has been
confirmed, a payment for at least half of
the total is required through email money
transfer. Payments can also be made in full
as well. This payment confirms your order.
After payment is made, you will be sent a
preview of your final image that you must
approve and give the go ahead for printing.
If a balance is remaining, it can be paid in
cash when picking up your order.
